FREE - "Trains, Trains, Trains" at the Brevard Museum

Date:
7/27/2024 at 10:00 AM

Event Description

The Florida East Coast Railway Society (FECRS) fecNtrak group will have their N-Scale Modular Railroad set up at the Catherine Schweinsberg-Rood Central Library.

Kids 8 to 80 can come run a train on our layout, experience the high-tech state of model railroading and get certified as a Jr. Engineer. Our layout replicates the 351-mile FEC Railway running from Jacksonville to Miami that passes right thru Cocoa.
We will be open to the public on Saturday July 27th from 10am – 3:00pm. Admission is free.

In 1895, Henry Flagler with his Florida East Coast Railway, began construction of a railway that ultimately would run from Jacksonville to Key West. The FEC played a prominent role in shaping Florida’s past with Brightline already shaping Florida’s future. All but the line from Miami to Key West is still in operation today and now serves as a portion of the Brightline connection between Miami and the Orlando Airport.
The fecNtrak model train group from the Florida East Coast Railway Society will have their computer-driven model train layout up and running that replicates the 351-mile railway running from Jacksonville to Miami and right thru Cocoa.

Location:
Catherine Schweinsberg Rood Central Library
308 Forrest Ave,
Cocoa FL 32922
